Crocodile biology and ecology

Australia is home to two species of crocodiles, both occurring in Queensland.

The estuarine or saltwater crocodile (Crocodylus porosus) is the larger of the two, growing to over 4 metres in length. Estuarine crocodiles can pose a danger to humans, which is why it’s important to Be Crocwise in Croc Country.
