Showcasing Queensland Koala Conservation in Action
Built by the Queensland Government as a dedicated koala education facility, the Daisy Hill Koala Centre was opened to the public in 1995. Located within the Daisy Hill Conservation Park, the Daisy Hill Koala Centre is a special place to learn about koalas and their conservation.

Visitor experience
Daisy Hill Koala Centre is nestled among eucalyptus trees and surrounded by wildlife, inviting you to connect with nature. As you enter through a ramped boardwalk, you will be greeted by a large, immersive outdoor koala enclosure. See how many koalas you can spot!
Step inside the centre to explore the world of koalas. Engage with informative and interactive exhibits that reveal the unique qualities of this iconic species and the efforts to conserve it.
Children will enjoy the koala hospital play area, where they can take on the role of a wildlife carer or vet. This educational activity is designed for children to learn about koala care and rehabilitation in a way that is suitable for their age.
Get koala-fied: We invite you to attend a presentation by a wildlife officer to learn about each of the koalas at the centre. You will hear their stories of survival and learn about the significant efforts being made in Queensland to protect their species. The wildlife officer will explain how you can participate in koala conservation, and they will teach you how to become an expert koala spotter! The presentations are free, and no reservations are necessary. Presentation times are 11am and 2pm, every day.
Koala feeding: Our wildlife officers feed fresh leaf to the koalas daily at 1.30pm. Although there are no guarantees, this is often a good time to see the koalas awake. For safety reasons, members of the public are not permitted to feed or touch the koalas.
Get more out of you visit…
Head to the top floor of the centre to discover why koalas are just one piece of the conservation puzzle. Explore some of Queensland's other wildlife conservation projects through seasonal displays and inspiring documentaries, showing in the woodland theatre.
After visiting the koala centre, we recommend that you take some time to explore the lovely picnic grounds and walking trails in the surrounding conservation park. These include the Paperbark trail, which is accessible for wheelchairs and prams. You may come across wallabies, kookaburras, and goannas in these areas, and you can also practice your koala spotting skills. For more information view Daisy Hill Conservation Park.
